“A Snapshot is loosely based on the experiences I’ve faced with unemployment as an Autistic adult. The sense of dread with; unaccommodating interviews, the repetitive presumptions and misunderstandings - “You don’t look Autistic” - as well as having to endure the uncomfortable nature of crowded, public transport.
Amongst the negatives that I feel need addressing, comes the positives: how Autistic people have just as much to offer to society, and validly contribute to the workplace as much as anybody else, as well as adding a universal message of never letting your creativity or deep down aspirations fade away into a 9 to 5.
It was a pleasure to work on A Snapshot. Well worth the wait of collaboratively developing my vision of the collectively shared frustrations of unemployment and the interview process - we brought to life that ring of truth, of confronting and overcoming inner conflict.”
